Forman Summer Program Counselor Spotlight: Lauren Russell ’22

July 12, 2023

Lauren Russell ’22 is one of the 2023 Forman Summer Program Counselors. Lauren says she was influenced to become a counselor by her own experience as a Forman Summer Program student.

“Forman became a second home to me [and] I wanted to show other kids how special this place is,” she says. “When I was a camper at the Forman Summer Program, I enjoyed being in an environment where I felt loved and cared for.”

Lauren is also a Summer Program Teacher Intern, working alongside Teacher Jeremey Marchand in a writing course.

“Something that I look forward to experiencing as a counselor is gaining more leadership skills in and out of the classroom,” she shares.

Lauren is studying Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education at the University of Vermont. She says she learned valuable lessons at Forman.

“Forman prepared me for college by teaching me how important it is to attend office hours,” she notes. “Putting that extra effort in goes a long way.”
