Each summer, Forman School alumni return to campus as Summer Program Counselors, eager to give back to the community that supported them. We caught up with our 2025 alumni counselors to hear about their experiences of seeing Forman from a new perspective and where they are today.
Gabriella Germano ’21 was one of several alumni who returned to work with students this summer. She guided campers who faced challenges similar to those she experienced.
What made you decide to be a Summer Program Counselor?
I wanted to give back to my community.
What has been the most rewarding part of this experience?
It was rewarding to have the opportunity to help kids who struggle with the same things I did.
What skills have you developed or improved through this experience?
I’ve gotten so much better at being a leader.
Did you attend the Summer Program as a student? If so, did that experience impact your role as a counselor?
I did, and it helped me understand how the program works and the purpose of it.
Gabriella recently graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in Environmental Studies and minors in Business and French. As for what’s next, she will be attending graduate school in France.
