Forman School Announces Zachary Bitan, MD ’13, as 2026 Commencement Speaker

April 9, 2026

Forman School is proud to announce alumnus Zachary Bitan, MD ’13, as our 2026 Commencement Speaker.

Zachary is currently a Resident Physician in Emergency Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He completed a five-year B.S./M.A. in Neuroscience at Trinity College, where he competed on the varsity squash team and was part of multiple national championship–winning teams. Following Trinity, Zachary worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Columbia University Medical Center before attending medical school at the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology. His journey from Forman student to physician reflects a deep commitment to perseverance and lifelong learning.

Zachary Bitan ’13, MD, visits Forman's Class of 2026.

In February, Zachary returned to campus to spend time with members of the senior class, offering both insight and encouragement. During his visit, he reflected on the impact of his time at Forman and how it shaped his path forward.

“This was the first place I really understood what learning differently meant,” Zachary shared. “It just meant I needed different strategies. The skills I built here—advocating for myself, asking for help, and figuring out what worked for me—are skills I still use every day.”

As Commencement approaches, the Forman community looks forward to welcoming Zachary back to campus once again—this time to address the Class of 2026 and celebrate their achievements. His story serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of a Forman education and the many paths our graduates take beyond the classroom.

Forman’s 2026 Commencement is on Saturday, May 30th.
