The fall athletic season, which kicked off at the start of the school year and continued through November, was a success in more ways than one. I was very impressed with our athletes' teamwork, leadership, good sportsmanship, and individual and team achievements throughout the fall season. Our student-athletes, as well as our spectators, represented Forman very well.
Although all our teams saw success, some went above and beyond with their individual and team achievements. Our Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team finished with a 10-4 record and finished second in the HVAL (Housatonic Valley Athletic League) and third in New Englands. Unfortunately, in both tournaments, our team lost to League and New England Champions, Christian Heritage School, in Trumbull, CT.
The Athletic Department is also incredibly proud of our Girls’ Varsity Soccer team, which finished 11-4-1 this season, and our formidable Cross Country team. Several players received individual, league, and New England honors from these very talented teams, including All-HVAL, All New England All-Star, and All-NEPSAC (New England Preparatory School Athletic Council) honors.
School spirit was on full display throughout the season. Many of our athletic competitions had large student sections, loud cheering, and examples of great sportsmanship, which we hope to bring to our winter and spring seasons!
In addition to our traditional athletic and recreational offerings, the fall season featured a new activity to meet the varied interests of our students: Mindful Meditation and Movement. In this program, students practiced yoga, went on nature walks, and participated in numerous calming and stress-reducing activities.
