The Community Service Club hosted All About Your Heart week February 12-16th in honor of the American Heart Association’s 100th anniversary and Valentine’s Day.
“Our first All About Your Heart week was a huge success,” says Mathematics Teacher and Community Service Club Advisor Jennifer Duncan.
Students sold cookie grams during lunches, raising over $300 for the American Heart Association. Other activities included a session of mindfulness led by Cognition & Learning Teacher Kelly Munn, a pink fire experiment conducted by Chemistry Teacher Robin Attey, an Open Mic event featuring love songs, and heart-healthy meals in the Dining Hall.
“We also had an over-the-top Valentine’s Day celebration with origami hearts from the Community Service Club and beautiful heart prints made by Megan Cooper's art classes,” Duncan notes. “We were able to have wonderful discussions about heart health this week, too.”
