Artist and Forman alum Scott Hattox ’94 recently visited campus. Scott is known for his dynamic and vivid artwork that has captivated comic convention fans. He specializes in comic book art, pop culture portraits, and imaginative character designs. Scott's work is marked by bold lines, vibrant colors, and a sense of energy that brings his creations to life. His illustrations often feature beloved characters from superhero franchises and fantasy worlds, reimagined in his distinct style.
During his visit, Scott captivated students and colleagues alike by live painting in the VPAC lobby. As his artwork came to life on paper, students gathered to watch his process, ask him questions, and learn more about his art. He shared that he started at Forman in his junior year and still uses the tools he learned here as an adult, including the importance of reading every morning.
Scott’s painting, created using gouache on watercolor paper, features a scene of the Graduation Tree with a Scout Trooper on a Speeder Bike from Return of the Jedi. He generously brought prints for students to have and donated his painting to Forman!
