Dear Forman School Community,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Amy L. Clemons to become the next Head of School, effective July 1, 2024.

´╗┐With more than 24 years of experience in education, Amy is joining us from the esteemed Woodlynde School in Strafford, PA, where she has been the Head of School for four years. Woodlynde serves 220 students with diagnosed learning differences from kindergarten through the 12th grade.

About Amy L. Clemons

Amy brings with her a considerable amount of independent school leadership. Her passion for education has been shown in a variety of roles over the past 24 years. She was the Enrollment Director at The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA, and the Director of Admissions at Renbrook School in West Hartford, CT, and at Community School of Naples, FL. At St. Paul's School in Concord, NH, Amy served as the Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Stewardship.

Amy, a native of Guilford, CT, holds a B.A. degree in Philosophy and Legal Education from Wheaton College, plus a Master's degree in Education from Rivier University. Amy and her husband, Dan, now reside with their two sons in Broomall, PA.

Our Search Process

The core of our search was finding a leader who understands and embraces the unique culture and values of Forman. Amy has demonstrated this in her past roles, experiences, and during the eight-month search process. Amy is a dynamic leader with a big heart for the whole student. Her approach in her previous schools has been consistent with Forman's mission.

Amy's appointment as Forman's Head of School is the culmination of an invigorating and inclusive search process supported by Carney, Sandoe & Associates. This process involved active participation from our Search Committee, many members of our Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, and our school community (parents, alumni, and friends) over the past eight months. The Search Committee was impressed with Amy's demonstrated capacity for visible and visionary leadership, her proven ability to engage all constituents in a school community with clear communication and authenticity, and her significant experience in strategic planning, enrollment management, and institutional advancement.

Amy's Acceptance

"I am deeply humbled to serve Forman and to build upon all that Adam Man and his team have accomplished," Amy said. "The concept of educating the whole person, forming minds and hearts, has driven my commitment to education over the past 24 years. It will be an honor to serve the Forman community. My respect for Forman has grown over many years, and I look forward to working with a dedicated faculty and staff, talented students, supportive families, and generous benefactors."

Thanks

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we thank the entire Forman community for your engagement, support, and guidance in taking the necessary time to identify the best person to build on Forman's educational mission and to lead Forman into the future. We also thank Carney, Sandoe & Associates for their extraordinary work and judgment.

Please join us in welcoming Amy and her family to Forman.
