Forman School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school for academically motivated students with identified learning differences such as dyslexia, executive function difficulties, or attention deficits. Our program does not support students with behavioral and emotional difficulties, social communication disorder, or those on the autism spectrum.

Meet Forman’s Head of School, Amy Clemons
Amy Clemons began her tenure as Head of School on July 1, 2024.
I am honored to serve as Forman’s tenth Head of School. Forman is not only a place of learning, committed to understanding and appreciating each student’s strengths and needs, but also a family. Living and learning in a community like Forman means becoming part of a family of educators, students, parents, mentors, and peers who recognize and welcome the value that each individual brings to the whole.
Forman’s nearly century-long commitment to revolutionary, evidence-based educational practices, combined with an equal focus on social and emotional well-being and a sense of belonging, is unparalleled. As the parent of a dyslexic student, I recognize immediately the elements of a learning environment intentionally developed to teach students the way they learn. Forman’s innovative and flexible approach appreciates both students’ learning differences and their incredible strengths and talents. The school’s tailored curriculum is designed to help students reach their potential not just in school but throughout their lives. This is achieved by understanding each student’s unique learning profile and offering classes taught by expert educators who recognize that a student’s path to success is not always linear. Here, students gain an increased awareness of how they learn best and build the confidence they need to dream big.
At Forman, students are surrounded by hands-on experiential learning at every turn, sparking curiosity, growth, and future educational and career pursuits. From learning the craft of boatbuilding to bringing projects to life in the Promethean Lab, students have endless opportunities to discover their passions. Our Athletics program also abounds with competitive and recreational offerings—from whitewater kayaking and skiing to culinary arts and theater—further encouraging students to explore their interests and talents.
